Ash ranges in color from light, pale brown, to creamy white. The grain is bold, straight, with an occasional wavy pattern.
Cherry has a wide range of color, from white sapwood, to darker browns and reddish heartwood. Grain patterns can also vary greatly.
Walnut varies in color from dark brown, to almost black and purple in the heartwood. Sapwood tends to be yellowish brown.
White Oak heartwood ranges in color from tan, to darker brown. Grain variance can be significant, but is usually much more uniform than Red Oak.
Quarter Sawn White Oak is the top choice for mission style furniture and cabinets. Very straight grain, with a flake pattern that is commonly referred to as “tiger rays”.
Maple ranges in color from white to light tan. Also available in highly figured forms,
such as, Birds-
Hickory varies widely from brown, or reddish brown in the heartwood, to pale, creamy
white in the sapwood. Coarse-
Red Oak varies in color from pinkish to light brown. The grain patterns can vary widely.
Sassafras is normally a pale brown color, but can sometimes exhibit an orange tint.

Quarter Sawn Sycamore has a very unique appearance. The grain is interlocking, and very dramatic.
Poplar can vary in color from almost white, to very dark brown to green. A good choice
for paint-
